I'm just gonna start this part of the story with a picture...if you know me at all I think you will know it is pretty obvious what I was doing but also that it was all in good fun!
Weeks prior to leaving for our spring break cruise, Aaron had been pestering me non stop about what to pack and other things that needed to be done before he left. I finally had given up and let him know that he was not my responsibility, of course his new camera was handy in the car on the way to the port when I decided to be silly in front of the rest of our friends when reminding him of this and striking this pose. I obviously didn't have any clue what was coming!
Several of our best friends boarded the ship and off we went to the Bahama's for a three day cruise. It was mostly women, we are all teacher friends, but a good time was definitely had by all! Check out some of our pictures.

The best was yet to come, even though one of our good friends had joked about us getting engaged on the cruise, I did not know that Aaron had purchased a ring before the trip and brought it aboard with just that plan. Looking back, he got a little nervous going through security because it was in his back pack and many bags were getting searched! He really just seemed polite when he let ALL us girls go before him knowing if he got searched he wanted us not to see the ring.
It happened the night of a friends birthday and we were all dressed up for the Captain's Dinner. We had stopped to get a cheesy cruise line photo on the way to dinner where our crowd exclaimed "engagement photo" as a joke! Aaron admitted later that he almost did it then.

After dinner our crew decided to leave the ship to go out into the Bahama's for the evening. We all agreed to meet back in a bit after we changed into more comfy clothes. Aaron said it would be nice to take a walk, since we were still all dressed up. We walked, and walked, and walked. Before long we realized we were on the topless deck (of course no one was there at 10pm).
We could see everything and we could even hear the local band playing nearby. As we leaned over the railing and chatted, Aaron walked away and started mumbling something about how he was glad that he got to come (it had almost been girls only on the trip)! I really couldn't understand him and got annoyed that he had walked away while we were talking. I finally turned around only to see him down on one knee with a ring...a girl's dream come true! I can't remember a lot of what he said because the only thing going through my head was that I had to remember to say "yes" in the midst of my excitement when he was finished!

The only thing that was difficult is that we couldn't share any of the news to our families for another day since we were still on the ship in the middle of the Bahamas. His parents knew, he had decided not to tell my gramma only because she would have told everyone before we would had the chance to get off the ship :) You know I couldn't help myself and didn't even wait to get off the ship and started calling everyone as soon as we were pulling into the port!
Next up...the BIG DAY!
